She’s always been clever and tactful, willing to take dangerous risks in order to escape by the skin of her teeth. She uses all of the resources she can against an enemy and uses her knowledge of the body and world to overpower others. Always the one to protect herself and family, Barbosa won’t let others get too close. She finds it hard to make friends as much as she wants to. Barbosa tends to be jaded, not letting others in. She can be judgmental and wonder why others don’t do something the way that she might or other various ways she sees as a better option than their own. She believes in taking a life for the greater good, she will do what she can to get an edge up on her enemies. No matter their state, their family, or the cost. So long as her own family is safe.

Barbosa is a daredevil at her core and has the ability to take up tasks that others may hesitate on. She’s unafraid, daring, and unstopped by danger. Barbosa often leaps before she thinks and it can be incredibly difficult to stop from doing something she has deemed necessary.  Her bravery and daring are dangerously contagious traits of hers. Her energy can infect many wolves with her sense of adventure and forwardness. She likes it that way. She likes when she has a powerful effect on others and tends to act as a guide. If the situation calls for it, Barbosa will be the one to lead others out of the fire.  One may stop at the edge of a ravine too afraid of the fall below, but Barbosa would jump to the other side without a second thought. It is often this lack of hesitation and trust in herself that gets her over things that others may not be able to. 

She is as quick on her feet as she is in her mind. She can come up with a quick witted plan in order to escape a sticky situation. While a well-thought-out plan is always preferred, she does not always have the patience for it. Improvisation is not an uncommon concept for Barbosa and it tends to work out well for her. She’s as slippery as an eel.

Her tongue is just as sharp, always having something up her sleeve to taunt or flirt with whomever she chooses. Her way of playing is often with words, as she deeply enjoys banter. Her defense against those who hurt her or say mean things is to not be hurt but rather to taunt them and challenge them if she can. She’s a button pusher. She loves to talk a big game and portray herself as tougher than she is. 

But even that thorny side has its opposite. Ever since Barbosa was little she has always had a big heart, and she cares deeply about others around her and might have at one point been a bleeding heart. The way the world has thrown her cards has caused a thorny jaded wall to be built around her once deeply caring heart. Now she seldom lets anyone in or spares a moment of her time to give them a sweet word. Barbosa minds her business more than she used to and often lets others be with themselves. 

   She holds a heavy grudge. And is quite protective of her family. When her kids were young she would not let anyone in to see them until they were older. Part in due to her being a stranger to the pack and part that she did not want any other smells on her kids other than hers and Orion's. She still is quite protective of them. Barbosa is not above snapping a mouthful of teeth at others to remind them of their place, which is further away from her.

 Barbosa suffers from fits of terror. She struggles to get sleep. Barbosa will have panic attacks, start trembling or experience phantom pains. She always tries to be prepared for the worst and will immediately try to guess what's wrong if someone comes to her with a troubled expression. She is able to recognize quickly the tone of voice in others. Any sort of yelling or bickering is too much for Barbosa and she will need to leave the area.

Barbosa wants results and she wants them now! That is not to say she is pushy, but she doesn’t like waiting. Hunting can be an irking task when she has to sit and wait for a hare to come out of it’s hiding hole. It’s satisfying when she gets what she wants right away. Unfortunately, much of the world doesn’t work that way, much to her dismay. She will pout on her own private time about not getting what she wanted in a perfect timely fashion

Barbosa was conceived between two unlikely wolves on a bed of dandelions. It was never meant to have a happy ending. Her mother was a rebel and her father a tyrant. A recipe for disaster, sure. And one night both the rebel and the tyrant found peace and common ground after a life-altering near-death experience. 

Barbosa's mother was already mated to another wolf, but that didn't stop the two wolves from having a tryst in the mate's absence.
On the run and seeking to recover lost family, Barbosa's mother traveled many miles with no one but her mink companion and a litter in her belly. She followed countless trails that led to dead ends for her family until she had, at last, stumbled upon what was her old territory. There she found her two children from her last litter and their acquired friends. 

For the most part, Barbosa's father was not in the picture, despite his attempts. The rest of the family had very little trust in the wolf and made wild accusations that he must have forced himself onto the rebel, however, that simply wasn't the case.

When Barbosa was born, she was very doted on. But being the child of a rebel and a tyrant had put a bounty on her head and made her a liability for everyone's safety. As much as Barbosa's mother wanted to keep her, and even her father who wanted to be there to take care of her knew that they couldn't. Barbosa had nearly just opened her eyes before the storm struck. Her father and mother had made plans since the day she was born to send her away. Somewhere she wouldn't be chased down or murdered. And so her father took her far away from their home and laid Barbosa along a stream bank, surrounded by leaves and twigs for a makeshift nest. He left never to be seen again. And her mother along with her family pack disappeared without a trace.

Barbosa's mother lays somewhere beneath the surface of a roaring sea, and her father became a ghost, vanishing into the clutches of the wild.
